iPod Touch 3.0 update oddity?

    Ever since I installed the 3.0 update for my 2g 16gb Touch, everytime I turn it on, I get the 'Slide to unlock' screen before it goes to the dashboard. Is this something that the new firmware programmed to do or is it a glitch? Not that it matters to me but I would like some clarification on the subject.

    isn't it supposed to have the slide to unlock screen?
