Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Parts of the song are missing after case/headphone replacement

#1 18 Aug 2009 @ 3:08
I changed the case on my 5th gen iPod. In the process I tore the headphone/hold button cable. I ordered another one on ebay and put it all back together. Thing is, some of the audio is missing from certain songs. For instance, on "Here comes the Sun" the entire guitar intro is missing. Actually it's there, but I have to crank to volume to max on my stereo to just barely hear it. But after that, the song plays fine. Same thing on "Kodachrome (Paul Simon) " Both right and left are there, it just seems like certain parts of the song (background guitar) are missing. I've replaced the song file from a known "good" source, but the problem remains. I took the iPod apart again to make sure the cables were tight to the board, but I still have this problem. Any ideas?

You didn't fix it correctly. You are onlygetting one channel. I happen to know that in "Here comes the Sun" the entire guitar intro is on one side and the main music is on the other.
