Storing songs on itunes

    I was usin i tunes for years on my lap top but i had to stop usin it because every time i was transferring all my music on my computer to i tunes it was savin all the music in a seperate folder in i tunes and it was usin all my memory up. is there a way to place the music on i tunes so that it does not use all my memory.thanks

    What memory are you complaining about? RAM or disk space? If it is diskspace you can put everything on a extrenal drive. If it is RAM, itunes is not an efficient application. I would suggest upgrading to Winamp or media monkey. Both have a free version.

    You should uninstall itunes, leave all the data intact. If you change your mind you can re-install itunes and opt to use existing database. In that way, you will not lose anything. Itunes will probably attack your ipod if you sync with something other than itunes. You can install the app and play with them to see if either are acceptable before you uninstall itunes. It is the sync that will get you in trouble.
