Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Read more about the update and let us know what you think!

Can you recomend a device for me?

I work as a cable installer and am looking for a unit that will play .mp3’s (preferably some sort of flash media) and AM/FM radio to enjoy while I am out in the field. It needs to have a 3.5 mm jack, an easy to see and use display, somewhat small in size and durable and able to take a bump and be used out in the elements as I work in some pretty hectic conditions at times. Any recommendations for me?

Troll for a cheap 16g Sansa View. They can be had for less than $100. It takes a standard headphone jack. If you get it off the internet you can get a 2 year warentee cheap! I got my wife one with 2yrs delivered for about 100 USDs. I can't wait for my ipod to die so I can get me one. It plays many formats, nice screen, great battery 32 hrs and looks rugged when compaired with my ipod. We have 2 ipods 1 Zune and 2 Sansas. Everyone wants to borrow the Sansa View.

There is a reason why Sansa is taking market shared away from Apple.

Oh, get Media Monkey as your audio app and use that to sync. Some people screw up when they drag and drop. They blame the device. Maybe it was the device maybe they didn't put whatever in the right spot. I don't know or care.

Hi

I am also in the market for a portable player!
About your AM radio need - There isn't one (mp3 portable player)on the market. Here is 2 reason why no one make its.
1. Hardly any demand
2. Requirs a long antanna - (remember the rabbit ears)
