probably a fault with alsa.. or the media player (xine is it?) has the volume turned down... again.. best place to ask is the n00buntu forums because we don't use it here.

    Hi All:

I love *buntu and use it everyday.

ALT + F2 opens the run dialog. type in gnome-terminal.

In the terminal waindow type in alsamixer. Make sure everything is turned up (normally muted/really low by default)

    Have fun!

    Thanks!
