My apple tv will connect to my itunes library just fine when using wifi. as soon as I plug the apple tv into a ethernet connection my homesharing disappears. The laptop I'm trying to connect to is also wireless. Why can't I connect to the laptop when I'm connected to the network via ethernet?

Actually simple answer to that you have only 2 choices wires to wired or wireless to wireless no wired to wireless this is why it disappears

Is it only wireless to wired that won't work? Because at my house I have wired to wireless and it works fine.
