How to Resurrect harmon Kardon SoundSticks 2 for all macintosh computers

WARNING: THIS MOD IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS IF YOU HAVE A NON FUNCTIONAL PAIR OF HARMON KARDON SPEAKERS THIS MOD WILL HELP YOU GET THEM RUNNING AGAIN BUT AT A COST TO THE CONSUMER SO LETS BEGIN.


ITEMS YOU WILL NEED.

1. SOLDERING IRON

2. SOLDER

3. A DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND SOUND RECEIVER (LOOK FOR ONE AT A THIRFT STORE TO SAVE MONEY DOESN'T REALLY MATTER ON THIS WHAT EVER YOUR BUDGET WANTS TO SPEND.

5. SPEAKER WIRE CORRECT GAGE FOR THE SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM YOU HAVE PURCHASED

6. ELECTRIC TAPE OR HEAT WRAP WHICH EVER YOU PERFER.


BEFORE CONTINUING: THIS MOD DOESN'T USE THE HARMON KARDON + AND - VOLUME CONTROLS FOR THIS MOD THEY WILL BE DISABLED NO NEED FOR THEM.

HOW TO RESURRECT YOUR SPEAKERS

first take a look at the harmon pardon sound sticks themselves you can see through the speakers after all look at what color wire is going to the speakers not to the volume control on the first speaker.

Second cut the connector off of the speaker and find the correct color wires to do this just take a headphone connector and connect it to a mp3 player and check wires until you get sound once you have sound you know which wires to tie to the new speaker wire solder then tape and do the exact same for speaker number 2 once finished there we can move onto the subwoofer.

The subwoofer is a little bit more of a challenge

you will notice 4 feet on the sub woofer these feet have to be removed by a pair of pliers in order to get at the screws to gain access to the internals of the subwoofer remove the main board out of the sub woofer and throw it away and run the new wires directly to the speaker and connect them to the subwoofer channel on the surround sound receiver

And you have now resurrected your speakers and they sound nice as well

now connect any device you want to them your macintosh your xbox your wii your ps3 there now universal
