I was trying to install OS x 10.4 on my Mac Power-book G4 with the help of original recovery disk. The system gets stuck even trying to start the installation. I have tried resetting through Cmd+ Option+P+R , tried safe mode, tried hardware test (which also hangs ).
The system has 2Gb memory and 1.8Ghz processor.
Any other ways /suggestions ?? For some reason , everything remains unresponsive.

Perhaps a faulty hard drive? Does the hardware test show you where it fails?
