I have a chance to buy a Power Mac G5, dual 1.8 processors, 2Gb ram, 250 GB and 80 GB hard drives, with a ton of high end video, audio and graphic software, all for under $800. Since I've only recently made the Mac move to an iMac running OS X 10.5, I'm still kinda fumbling my way through the Mac world. Think the Power Mac would be a worthwhile purchase? Could the OS be updated to Leopard 10.5? Thanks in advance for any input.

In my opinion PPC is dead. You should just save up and save yourself a headache and buy an intel mac :D

os ain't going to upgrade on that.. no doubt why somebody is pretty much trying to get whet they can for it..

I wouldn't touch it.. not even free.. well not with a mac os on it anyway.. proprietary junk.. hardware and software...

better free stuff is available on better hardware for less than the cost of that junker.. and it is a junker now. You coold buy a quad xeon rack mount server for about half that and have double the bang.. using free unix os and video applications.
