Acer Aspire Laptop Switches on, Acer logo appears, fan runs for 3 seconds then - NOTHING. Black screen, and any key you touch beeps.

It does however let you select F2 when you switch on which takes you to a BIOS option, however it is looking for a password. Never ever set a password on this machine so the password is whatever the default was set at.

Any information on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

ukscottie, its unfortunate but most laptops require (if at all available) shorting some area of a motherboard based on info gotten from some website you're not totally sure you can trust. try the easy passwords (0000, 1234, etc) if that dont work, get to hunting for some shady website instructions :)

password is in NVRAM so disconnecting power does not matter.
