Hello everyone.. I'm using Windows 7 and here is what's happening:

I have an Asus P5K SE motherboard with onboard Audio.. I have the Front Panel with the audio and mic enabled, and that's where I plug my headphones.. and in the rear I got my regular sound system.

The problem is that everytime I want to use my headphones I have to go to Control Panel and change the Default Device to the headphones (front panel)..

My question is, is there any way to make it "auto change" everytime I plug my headphone? Or a quicker way to change between default devices without having to go to control panel -> sounds -> etc etc..

    Thanks!

I can take a few clicks out of the operations. Just right click on the speaker icon on the task bar. Select Playback devices and choose the one you want to use. Rather than going to the control panel...

I wonder what would happen if you select your headphones as the default. If you have been using the regular speakers and then plug in the headphones would it automatically switch it to the headphones because they are the default.

I think that if you use the realtek drivers, you can set it up to switch automatically; or at least they come with an app that claims to do this.

I'm my experience the switch generally happens automatically. Updating or reinstalling the drivers provided from the manufacturer should do the trick.
