I have pictures burned on toa DVD disc. I try to open them but its just a generic mountain picture. I'm using a dvd drive to try to open, and read only is not checked. How can I open these pictures? Some of the pictures on the disc will open, but the others just have that mountain thumbnail, and when I click on them nothing happens.

I would try copying the pictures onto my local hard drive first. Check the file extensions and make sure they are correct. Sometimes file's extensions get dropped and you have a file with no extension. If this is the case just add it in Windows Explorer and go from there.

I tried copying the pictures onto my hard drive, but it tells me that they are read only. I tried checking and unchecking the box and it wouldnt let me. I tried using the DVD recovery program and that didnt work. It wouldn't recognize the disc for some reason. Any other ideas?

The problem is the disc or DVD problem, in addition to try on another computer, no other way.

(To Hanson) Sorry buddy but it appears the disc is bad/corrupt/damaged.
Get those original pictures and reburn using QUALITY discs or put on flash drive. No Dynex or crap like that. Either way, the little "mountain" is an unreadable data icon.

I know you can't be referring to a Mac OS.
If it was a perfect world, I'd still be running AmigaDOS
