Hi everyone i need to make a simple batch file to backup a group of files and then move them across the network, reason for doing in a command prompt its simple and light wight. i know the basic command prompt but i just need help with the more advanced, also i need to make a status bar aswell to show progress as some of the files are large..

we have been using the windows back its that unstable and unreliable i had it with it falling over,

the files are located and shared from the desktop,

they need to be moved to a network pc, and move to another pc aswell and will also be backed up to external usb drive...

Can this be done using xcopy command?

    thanks
