Hi everyone, I've been trying to restore my girlfriend's computer for her, but I've been having problems with getting it connected to the internet. The other day I formatted the HD and installed WinXP Professional. I downloaded all the drivers from HP's website too, even wireless drivers, yet I can't get this laptop to connect. It has connected to the internet prior to the formatting. I tried a bunch of different drivers and simple things, but to no avail. I can't get it to scan for routers. Does anyone know what I can do? I'm ripping my hair out over this, haha. Thanks in advance!

The wireless button is on and activated, is there a switch on the card itself inside?

    1. Click Start and Run
    2. Type into the Run box "services.msc" (without the quotation).
    3. Scroll down and look for the service Wireless Zero Configuration

    Double Click on the Service

    4. Make sure that it is Started and that the startup type is set to automatic.

If the Service did not Started, or and is Not set to Automatic.

To Start the Service click on the Start button.

To set the service to automatic, click on the down arrow and change it to Automatic.
