    Hello,
I use a Windows XP SP3 Media Center Ed. and I had a question whether to delete this folder called "MEDIACTR". I attached a picture showing the location of the folder. I don't use the media center in my computer; I only use WMP pretty much. Any help is appreciated. [IMG]

There shouldn't be any issue with deleting that. Although I dont see why you want to. I would just leave it there, or properly uninstall it.

The reason is just to gain some space and just cleaning up the computer. Thanks for the reply.

I am probably going to buy a 2 TB external hard drive this black friday. I personally like to clean my computer in a detaied fashion: I go through each folder and check it out. Thanks for the reply.

Not sure about XP but in control panel> add & remove>change windows components, untick Media Centre if it's there and it will free up the space without deleting. Just an FYI, look under Programs & Features in W7 and ditto on MR or ATI or Ghost.

one drive won't be enough unless you can afford to loose data basicly you need a backup to the backup (two or more of everything),it's all too easy to get a corrupted drive a virus or a drive failure

to mistycat: I checked the place that you said and I didn't find the media center one but I did clear up some space by taking some other stuff off. thanks.
to scorpNZ: well a 2 TB sounds like enough. I'm gonna basically backup everything off my internal hard drive to the external one, so if one fails the other one is there. I don't see the need for a third one is what I'm saying ( even though it wouldn't hurt to have one of course).
