Ok so i used epm to resize my partitions and it completly corrupted my windows 7 installation, luckily i was able to retrieve my data with my vista installation but even vista was a little buggy.

so i reinstalled windows 7 and it kept freezing up on me especially when i tried to go into disk management, it would just sit there with a blank page and never load up and then the rest of the pc would start freezing up.

i used a few disk checking software's including western digitals data lifeguard diagnosis, dskchk and they find nothing wrong with the hdd.

oh and yes my hdd is WD

so i did a complete format of the drive with both windows and the wd data lifeguard cd and reinstalled win7 and im still having the same problem.

i dont know if this is a hardware problem or not but any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated,
    thank you.

Is this windows 7 64 version?
Are you getting any input/output errors?
I would check the memory or motherboard before I would blame the hard drive.
If you have a linux livecd, try and see if linux runs ok on your hardware. This can rule out a hardware problem.

thanks for the reply but i figured out the problem.

for some reason me having the windows 7 (32-bit) disk in the drive is what the system was getting hung up on, i took out the disk and its working just fine now.

i think my disk is messed up so im going to reburn it because no other disk is causing it to do that.

so again thanks for the reply.
