what the heck, i have two external drives right, one is 232gig one is 298gig.

the 232 one has all my stuff on it, the 298 is clean, but when i try copy files between the two it says that the source file or folder cannot be read, i can open the folders that it says it cant read, and the programs that it cant read are programs that work and i can open them, but i just cant copy them between the drives.

please help or advise, operating system: windows vista home edition.

    thanks

Have you tried copying to ANOTHER storage device, e.g. a memory stick or another USB hard drive if you've got one?
It might be a problem with the 298gb unit rather than the 232 with all the data on. Try deleteing the partition on the clean drive, and reformatting
