hi i have forgotten my password for windows vista. been overseas for 3 months without it.. now i'm back i cant for my life remember it. what can i do without doing a complete clean instal? cheers.
try going in thru safemode as administrator into user accounts & remove password. don't type a password in, just hit enter. works for xp so presume will do for vista as i've done it a few times as customers forget to tell me the password.
tried that but still requests password. i have tried a widows key reset iso which works on my other computer but not on the one thats locked
is this the iso you tried to use ? http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ Also you can go through administrator in vista because its disabled by default
Try running OphCrack from live CD: http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ Use the text version when booting from it.
