Formatting without passwords! HELP

    Hey everyone,

    I was given an old computer from work and i wanted to format it and start fresh but i i have no passwords and i cant get into bios setup to boot from windows cd. Again no password. How can i get windows cd to boot up so i can format HD?

    take the bios battery out and leave it overnight .. or look for a "clear cmos" jumper on the board.. usually a red jumper (not always by any means) and often very near the bios battery.. remove the battery and leave the jumper in the clear position for a couple of minutes will usually clear all bios passwords and restore factory settings.

    BUT .. will this old free computer from work run xp?
