Some things that i have tried..
I've tried going in to regedit, and deleting the group policy and policy keys in Microsoft\CurrentVersion in both Current User and Local machine, deleting the .pol files from c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine and c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\user, and also deleted the ntuser.pol files from each of the accounts on the computer, yet once i reboot, they're all back.

    Help is appreciated please!

Below is how to remove group policy from Win 7 after taking it off the domain.

    1. Hit the start button.
    2. Type-bring up local security policy
    3. Navigate to Local Policies
    4. Choose Audit, user rights assignments or security options from list.
    5. Remove any annoying group policy that was set because the computer was once joined to the domain.
