I had Nero Ultra Edition 6.6.1.4 with Nero Vision Express and something else which I forgot lol. I wish I did not have to upgrade because these versions worked just fine for me! I do a lot of video editing. Which version of Nero do you guys suggest? Keep in mind I do need Nero Vision Express as well because of all the video editing I do. Also is there anyway to get a driver or something to keep my Nero 6? You guys are great at this stuff. Thanks so much for the help in advance!
The newer versions of nero are complete trash (not that the old ones were good, but they were not as bad). If you are willing to do a little bit of learning, you could switch to something better, maybe even a freeware/open source depending on your needs.
Basically what I need it for is putting MPG files into a music video DVD. After I edit my videos I like to watch them on my TV. I also use the converter to convert to a nero source and I copy the audio to make an MP3 as well. So what do you think I can use?
Killer Bug is correct the newer versions on Nero are trash in every respect BUT if you are going to upgrade to any of the Nero's then Nero 7 is best one out there, there isn't anything you can't do with it okay maybe you can't burn mp4s but which of them can? Most likely Nero 9 but that's the biggest trash out there followed very close by Nero 8
I do a lot of video editing too and i have been using nero since back in the days of nero6. Nowadays i use Nero Multimedia Suite 10 on my windows 7 and i am pretty impressed with it's simple creativity. And yes, Nero Vision xTra will do everything you described above and more. Of course some folks will argue that the later versions of nero are crap & bloatwares and i respect their opinions but me personally, i'm loving nero 10.
Nero 7 is not as good as nero 10 when it comes to video editing. for example, In Nero Vision 10, the timeline editor is vastly improved with a new look with more tracks & easier tools.
In Win7 Ultimate, using nero7 I could burn discs and use recode but couldn't use nero vision and make or edit movies. Specifically I couldn't import files that were easily imported using XP. By installing windows virtual mode, then installing Nero to the virtual XP drive, i was able to go around this issue. win7 starter and home versions do not have virtual mode but the rest of win7 brands do. Should I have to do all this to get a program to work is a different story for a different thread. I am just letting you know there is a way to run your older Nero programs with most Win7 versions.
but people.. avidemux, imgburn and dvd flick all work splendidly on wincrap7 .. and they are freeware. What the hell are you wasting your time with nero for?
Agreed Paula, I use them. I haven't really used Nero since 6 and I dabbled with 7 because it was one of the first (nero or sony, pick yer poison...) to support AVCHD editing. I went looking for programs incompatible with win7 to test the effectiveness of the virtual xp feature and found it in Nero7. I wasn't impressed with the extra resources virtualxp hogged, but was impressed that they made opening the program inside the VM a seamless, 1step operation.
