Installing Windows XP on Windows 7 Home Edition via disk

I'm having trouble installing Windows XP Professional along with my pre-installed windows 7 home edition. I'm using a regular windows install disk, but everytime I boot from the disk I get an error message with a blue screen.

 

some times its a memory related issue,chk your ram memory pls

 

My computer has 16 gb of ram. How can that be a problem?

 

ok good.sorry man i used capslock i forgot to click them.did u properly installed ram memories? is it matching the mobo ram frequencies? another option is :before u boot pls set the default bios settings click "load fail safe defaults".how about the video cards is it properly installed too?try rebooting using only 1 ram memory,goodluck to u

 

Question #1 Are you trying to install XP on the same disk/different partition as 7, or a different disk altogether.

Question #2 Why would you want to run XP if you have 16GB RAM?

 

Are you saying theirs a thing as too much ram? Can XP not run with 16 gb or more of ram?

im lil bit puzzled about installing windows xp on windows 7 . heres another tip,reboot again,and if u encounter the blue screening,list down the error screen , for example "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA STOP" ,google it,search for the best possible solution.

xp wont recognize more then 3.6gb i believe you will need xp x64 edition to get the rest, which if thats the case you should stick with win7 its gonna use that ram more to your benefit then xp ever would. also if you need xp for legacy apps or something like that just run it in a VM.

I mean, your thread title asks about installing windows XP when you already have Win7, sounds like a traditional dual-boot scenario. I try to help, I get no response, then you link to this,

You do know this has NOTHING to do with installing XP from disc, and everything to do with an application that comes with windows 7 to help run old programs that only XP will run?
Please explain your expectations because it seems you don't really know what you want.

I think its XP Professional 32 Bit, so that probably won't work. How do you run Windows XP in VM?

 

1.Install any VM program
2.Take a break, perhaps consume an adult beverage of your choice.
3.Open program, install Operating System to it just as you would a computer with no OS, drivers and all
4.Bask in the smug glow of new found knowledge as girls throw themselves at you and men try to copy you.

 

Any VM programs you can recommend?

 

I have only used Windows VM, by itself and as part of win7 XP mode that was linked to earlier.
Its very slow and laggy, even on newer systems.
Google free VM and see what you like, search other forums, maybe someone has a better answer...I have heard good things about this free VM but never tried it http://www.vmware.com/products/player/faqs.html

 

Windows 7 is a much newer system than XP,so if you want to install XP,you will have to uninstall Windows 7 and then install Xp,thence reinstall Windows 7.General rule in dual booting systems on PCs is old OS first then newer OS second.This applies to all versions of Windows.

 

If you already have all of your files such as videos, pictures, documents, and music all on your windows 7 account, how would you uninstall windows 7, install xp, and then re-install windows 7 so that you wouldn't be losing any of that data?

 

Save data to external drive, disc, usb, etc.

 

I'm using VMplayer to run xp in unity mode with win 7 for the few bits I still have that need XP
