hey ppl I recently wiped my dell laptop because i was dissatisied with windows vista which it had. I used wipedisk to wipe the harddisk clean so to installl xp. I have used wipedisk before and i am confident that it is not the problem. That went fine but now when i put in the xp disk, i am given a message Setup cannot find any hard drive disks blah blah blah Im wondering what can i do? When i install windows 7 there is no probs with the hard drive and it installs fine Thanks
You should check the BIOS to see if there's a setting to change the AHCI mode. A lot of newer devices default to this mode, which Windows XP doesn't recognize by default.
