I got a new laptop about 5 months ago, yesterday i ran the windows update for service pack for windows 7, it installed, but when i restarted my laptop, it died... I turn it on, it goes past the start up screen where you can enter set up, but doesnt make it to the windows screen, instead i get a black screen with a white blinking cursor. Do you have any idea what is wrong? I have some important things on there i dont want to lose, can i save them? I am pretty tech knowledgeable and pretty sure if told what to do I could fix it, but right now, I'm really worried about saving my data. I would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks
Your laptop likely has some recovery tools that you can access from the logo screen. Sometimes there is a back up option in there.
