Need help with Toshiba laptop

I don't know if this is the right forum so be patient. for the last 18 months I own a toshiba A215 laptop with amd turion 64x2 processor with 2gb of ram 150g of harddrive. in the past few weeks the laptop keeps on locking up with it a game or on the internet and I keep reboot it. finally I did some searches and other people were having the same problem so I decided to start it in safe mode. them I decided to use the system restore to a previous point but while that was working the battery died so now whenever I start up the laptop it keeps recycle from startup repair to windows is loading files to the beginning of startup but not the startup page. startup repair keeps checking for the problem over and over again.
can anyone help me get out of this rewind
