netbook reinstall os

    hi ive just bought my daughter a netbook with windows 7 on how if i need to do i reinstall the os i have a windows serial that came with it but how would we reinstall the os if need to as netbooks have no cd/dvd drive the netbook is a Zoostorm FreedomXL 10.2" NetBook - Windows 7 starter

    hahaha.. these are fun.. I don't know if you can boot win(crap)7 from usb.. or pxe boot across a network (assuming you have a running LAMP stack to drop the bootloader on)

    I PXE boot.. because I'm a linux user and it's dead simple to network boot from my server and let the netinstall get on with it. there is a windoze way.. but I think win stuff is crap so wouldn't even bother to look.. small lean linux is far preferable on netbooks due to low system resources.

    wouldnt it be alot easier to buy an externel usb dvd drive and use that

    yes. make certain in the bios it can boot off a usb drive & is 1st in the boot order. had to do that with an acer netbook which had xp sp3 but had to install vista as would not load xp sp2.
