Pictures in folder blurry (Vista)

For some reason, pictures I have stored C/users/joe/pictures (that folder) are all blurry, until I click on them individually, then they are vibrant and clear. When I am done looking at the individual picture, it (back in the folder with the rest of them) is blurry, blurry meaning it's like grayed out, washed out, like it's 50 yrs old. It happens to any picture I save to my computer.
