Hey there, not sure if this is the correct place to put this question but oh well.

The problem I'm having is I know I have USB 2.0 but recently all the flash drives or whatever that I plug in, Windows say "This device can perform faster" and now whenever I try to transfer files it can take up to 20 minutes whereas it used to take like 3 minutes at the most when I tried to put like a 1 GB onto it.

Can anyone tell me how I can get my USB 2.0 speed back? I'm running Windows XP if that helps.

I have had this problem when I was running Vista. Seemed that this machine, a home built job sporting a MA790X-UD4 motherboard, used to sniff at some usb ports but accept all the others. So at the time my remedy was to change ports. I have not noticed the same problem now I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
