before i say anything i just wanna mention that im not interested in pirating any software and have purchased microsoft windows xp home edition, im simply looking to reformat my acer aspire laptop because i have acquired a few viruses which make it freeze instantly upon startup making it impossible to even remove them (wdefense.exe, av.exe) but my problem is the fact that the laptop itself doesnt have a cdrom drive or a floppy drive.... just usb plugins. i would have to purchase an external cdrom to install the cd i own but i understand that this can be done alternatively through a usb and wouldnt cost anything. im no expert in this field by any means but i know i need 1. a bootable usb device 2. xp file that will fit on the drive 3. change my boot device priority the rest is cake. ive looked up the laptop name and found it will accept bootable usbdrives (most) but what i dont know is if this can be done and if so what steps i need to take to complete it... (if i absolutely have to ill buy an external cdrom drive but thats last resort.)
