recovery disk

    I have a gateway computer that has nothing on the harddrive.It has a recovery disk with it.How do I go about restoring it?

    Turn your computer on, and put the restore disk into your opticall drive. Your computer should boot from this CD/DVD.
    If not, go into your BIOS (while the computer is booting up press the 'Del' (Delete) Key). Find you boot order, insure that the CD/DVD drive is selected to be the first boot device.
    Follow the prompts on sreen after you have booted from the recovery disk.

    My recovery disk must be no good.When I hit a key it comes back and tells me to put a bootable disk in.
