I picked up a DELL 3000 tower. The log on screen shows the previous owners name and asks for a password. The hint is "stingers". Obvious choices like BEES ect are of no help. Out of desperation I tried 4 xp hdds that came from DELL towers of various models. The towers were fully functional but died at various times. What are the steps to REMOVE this password short of reloading the os? I have a friend who can do it but I would like to avoid that. Is there a cheap cd I can buy that will do this permanently? Can I remove myself as ADMINISTRATOR? I presume the system thinks I am one. Help please.

I read the linked page carefully. The entire procedd is too complicated for me to understand. It is easier for me to give it to my friend to reload the OS. Thank*s anyway.
