Does anyone have suggestions about what to do now that I have used Trasnfer Wizard to transfer everything from the original C: drive to a new larger e: in the same Dell computer? It went through a long process of preparing the files to move, but now all I have on the E: is about 3GBs in a file, I believe it is usmt, when the C: had about 20GBS. Is this file on the new drive compressed or something, and now I need to do something else? Thanks. Tom
Depending on the operating system you have you can use this program to transfer your files from one computer to another. User State Migration Tool (USMT) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=10837
What exactly are you trying the do? the usmt only transfers your data and settings not the complete windows. You would need to clone the drive if you wanted to move windows to a new disc and boot from it once you've moved your files to a 'new' computer then you use the usmt to 'put them back where they belong'
