Trying to reinstall windows on asus eee pc 1005HAb

#1 02 Jan 2011 @ 16:37
I have an Asus external dvd drive and when i insert the disc that came with the EEE pc and attempt to reformat it give me an error. I don't know what the error exactly is because when it tried to output a log file it doesnt have a destination to put it. I tried switching the directory to the common letters that are associated with a USB flash drive ( D, E , F) but it doesnt work. Whats next to get this done?

can you boot off that disk properly? don't reformat yet as have to delete the windows partition 1st not the recovery partition which is on the hard drive.

Ubuntu was installed on the entire disk so I don't think the recovery partition would still be there.

are you certain? did you select advanced options so can delete the present partition so you can make new partition & format it before windows is reloaded onto the hd?
