Just built a new PC and installed W7 Ultimate x64.

But I got two very annoying problems.

    1. The text on some webpages is very "blurry". If I deactivate ClearType it gets much better. But, then the text in menus and so on gets blurry instead. Using firefox but the problem is in IE also. Tried different drivers for my HD5850 from AMD´s homepage but it doesn´t help.

I even installed Windows XP again and there everything works PERFECT. So i guess it´s some kind of software/driver problem. Heard of other people who has the same problem but no solution has helped me. Would like to go back to XP but I will then lose 1 GB of RAM and can´t use DX 11 in games so that kinda sucks..

    2. The other problem is that I can´t select more than 15 files in a folder and see the total size without have to click this damn "show additional information" text on the bottom of the folder. Very annoying when I´m about to fill a DVD and have to press this "text" about 30 times to see when I´ve reached the limit. In Win XP this status was shown the whole time.

are you already at the max resolution for your LCD? maybe crank it up some more.
I find it very strange that windows 7 has worst resolution than XP. It should be the other way around.

    Thnx for your reply.

Yes I´m at 1680x1050 at 60hz which is what my LG W2252TQ can handle at the most. Works perfect(!) in XP with the same settings. Anymore ideas?

Use the vista driver issued for your lcd and if there isnt one you can force install the xp driver in the hardware manager.
it will flash up with warnings but keep clicking ok and it will install.
