I want to install windows 7 on a brand new hard drive and went out and bought windows 7 professional. I just noticed that it says upgrade on the package. It cost 200.00 dollars. Will this not work? Should I take it back?

You can install it on a blank hard drive if you have a valid Vista key, but I would just return it...you can get a Technet plus subscription for $250...and that gives you 10 copies of everything microsoft makes, including 10 copies of each release of vista (so, 10 home x86, 10 home x64, 10 pro x86, etc...) You also get 10 copies of each version of office 2003, office 2007, and office 2010 (when it comes out). Well worth the extra $50 if you ask me...and it costs less than buying a single copy of windows 7 ultimate.
