    Hi
My PC (Win XP) is coming to the end of it's life and although I really like XP all the new laptops out there come with Vista. My question is what do people think of Vista in general? I only ask because I've heard so many bad things about it e.g. hardware incompatibility, computer crashes...

Should I buy a new Vista laptop or try and hold out till October for Windows 7. I have no idea how different Vista and 7 will be. I have no idea when my pc will die on me next either... lol!

Thanks in advance for the advice :)

Windows Vista actually isn't that bad at all; most of the hate came from people that bought cheap, rubbish computers that could barely run it when it came out, by now even most low end computers have caught up and can run Vista very smoothly. That said, i'd suggest you wait for Windows 7 now - i have the Release Candidate on my main gaming PC and i love it, far nicer user interface than XP and runs impressively smoothly (moreso than Vista), but it takes a little while to get used to the odd places Microsoft have moved a couple of the options... All in all, it's certainly worth getting Windows 7 over the other two :)
