My windows vista wont recognize any of my external hardrives, ipod, printer etc. but will recognize other printer, my wireless usb adapter keyboard and mouse. Im up to date with all the drivers etc and tried uninstalling and installing software but didnt work. Also checked external hardrives wernt faulty on another machine, they worked fine.
You could go into the Device Manager and uninstall the usb devices. Most of the usb device will use generic Microsoft drivers and should automatically reinstall when you restart the computer.
