What will have happened if open source software becomes open standard?

    What will have happened if open source software becomes open standard?

    Please, if you can, in more than one sentence :) Thanks

    Open source by definition is open standards compliant .. to get a gnu public license it can be anything.. because the source is open and can be modified for any purpose by anybody but most writers stick where possible to open standards compliance because it makes life much easier.

    Only proprietary code makers (like M$ with ooxml and IE) try to force non standards compliant junk on us as a standard.. a standard must be openly published.. because a standard is a standard and must be accessible to all to use.
