Just installed 7, having a bit of a problem. I get my normal BIOS information and my Windows 7 loading screen but when it goes from that into the desktop, I get a black screen and a no signal error from my monitor. i hear the welcome sounds so its running just no display

I can hook up to my big tv and it works. but not on my monitor.

    any ideas?

You've set the PC to a resolution and/or refresh rate that the monitor can't handle.

While the PC is attached to the TV, drop the resolution down to the lowest setting and colors, and work your way up from there.

You might be able to shortcut by going to 1024 x 768 @ 32K colors first.

Try 800x600...just about every monitor on earth should work with that.

do you have more than one display hooked up to your computer, say a monitor and a tv? If so, windows 7 for some reason likes to default to the secondary display sometimes. This happened to me, my monitor was black but I turned my tv on and switched to my pc input and sure enough, there was my desktop on the tv.
