Ok big problem, when I turned on my laptop, I always experience a "Not Responding" issue every 5mins of usage, I tried not running any application, cleaned up registry, uninstall unwanted programs etc. I can't even use event viewer. Help me fix this problem. Last 24hrs the laptop are working perfectly, it happened when I turned it off the laptop. I have not installed anything the past 24hrs in order for the system to not work correctly. BTW, if you're telling me to reformat, I can't because my CD-ROM is busted. EDIT: My Laptop is Dell Inspiron 1525.
How long has the CD-ROM been broken? If both problems happened around the same time, disconnect the CD-ROM and see what happens. Jeff
@ddp it only happened recently. I can't even go and create a restore point, it will freeze before it finishes. I haven't tried a system restore, because I did not expect this to happen. @Jeffrey_P CD-ROM has been broken for bout 2months now, I dont know how to disconnect a CD-ROM, I still can't do an inside job on laptops.
What exactly does it say is not responding? If you have access to another PC with a DVD drive, you could create a Windows repair disc on a USB drive and boot from that.
@Ripper actually I don't have. Only have this one with CD Drive. Others are just notebook laptops. @ddp I'm not sure if I can answer that, I don't even know how to turn off/on system restore.
tymarski, notebooks & laptops are the same but netbooks aren't as they are smaller, slower & no optical drive.
@ddp I didn't do anything special. When the freeze occurs, I just left it turned on, it took me at least 2hrs waiting for it. I always check it after 15minutes of waiting but nothing happened. It is quite a loooong freeze.
