Windows Explorer Freezes when I try to move/delete/copy files

The files go through to the place I want, but the Windows explorer on the taskbar just stays up and doesn't close out. Have to go to the task manager and end task to get rid of it.

Maybe a malware issue?

 

I should have included i run vista on a laptop computer. I know vista is a ram hogger, but its going slower and slower.

 

I'm still having this issue if anyone can help.
