Windows not legit?

    ok, im looking for help here, my desktop pc is old enough, but pulled it out of attic set it up, no problems yet.. but lately every time i start it up , i get YOU MAY BE THE VICTIM OF SOFTWARE COUNTERFEITING, i ran a scan and results where this copy of windows didnt pass geniune validation... what are my options here, please forgot to say im using windows xp pro

    moved to correct forum as not a "building a new pc" issue. supposedly your windows is not legit, did your windows come with the pc or did you buy the windows & installed it on the pc?

    You can play it off legit or not, not difficult to figure out.

    When you installing Windows. You can use 10 diffirent product keys. only few of them are correct, incorrect onces will lead you to death.

    I was lucky, I insert the WinXP cd, choose C:\ and I was abled to change my product key... Stilll, backup all files before you do that...
