It started today. I was watching videos on you tube when suddenly my computer freezes and I hear a loud dial tone like noise coming from the computer. I thought it would be a one time occurance. Then abruptly and without warning it happens again about 2 hours later. Why is this occurring and how do i make sure it doesn't happen again? Is my computer crashing due to a software or is it the hardware?
It sounds like it is trying to dial up to somewhere. If you are not using the modem, I would remove it.
