wmp9

wmp9 works in my DELL GX400 but not in my HP7600. Both running XP PRO both use COLE2K codec version 7.8. Audio only in HP. Un and reinstalled p9 and cdec twice. No help. Solutions please. P9 works in my other HP 7600. As an aside I was thinking of using LINUX on the off chance that the OS was written incorectly. I was also thinking of swapping HDD in HP for the same reason. I only have a DELL cd and an HP key. Do not know if I can activate it again. I have already used the same key 3times on 3 desktops because all 3 were password protected. Solutions please. Ms has not squawked.
