sorry i already posted this thread but they close it by mistake without getting any help what i want is very easy not to complicate thing like ever and go far away off topic what to do to help me 1-put a floppy disk on your floppy drive 2-right click and choose format 3-choose create startup floppy disk 4-embed the created files in winrar 5-host it in rapidshare or any other free hosting websites 6-give me the share link 7-done please i don't have floppy on my laptop
The microsoft website has those floppy discs available for download, you download the file and it will create them for you. It requires a total of 6 blank floppys. Make sure you download the correct one home or pro version.
I DON'T HAVE FLOPPY DRIVE ON MY LAPTOP i want startup floppy files already created because i can't create them where???? as i told you give me the files and i ll create the image cd with winimage so i can boot with cd instead of floppies i can use bart pe or a lot of bootable disc but they are huge sized i hope you understand this time and give me a hand for solving this issue
This is not exactly what you are wanting, but I think it might work. I dug it up awhile back for a friend who needed to install a RAID on a Dell without a floppy drive. Hope it helps you out. http://www.ghacks.net/2006/09/06/copy-and-run-floppy-boot-disks-from-usb/
no unfortunately it didn't work, when i press "create an MS DOS STARTUP DISK" it creates the wrong files, and it didn't boot and it will never if you want to help really do what i told create the files for me and send it through hosting files that's the only solution i think otherwise don't bother replying any far
We don't share links here. What you are trying to do won't work anyway. This forum will try to help you as best as we can, but sometimes the information you get won't be exactly what you want.
Even without a floppy drive, you can do what you're asking us to do by yourself. Simply download Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (link here). Install Windows XP. Use virtual PC's virtual floppy to create the files you want. Of course, like everyone else is saying, it's not going to do what you want. You simply need a bootable Windows XP install disc. Here is a link to the files that you need as well as the instructions on how to make bootable XP install disc. http://www.theeldergeek.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24505
why do i have to make a bootable XP install disc if i already have the windows xp both installed and on a cd ???????????????? i want just a bootable MS-DOS startup disk to boot with, and rescue my system when computer won't boot, last time it gives some error like "error can't find the following file (hal.dll) please reinstall a copy of the above file" i had the file backed up in my [D] partition in a subfolder there but i wasn't able to log to that subfolder to copy it from there because xp recovery console doesn't access those subfolder; THIS ms dos startup disk is only 1.44 mg and can log to my entire hard disk and partitions to copy files from directories to others for example: copying files from directory (d:\my files\xxx.dll to c:\windows\system32) i searched the whole web but still can't understand why it's unavailable for download,i found it bizzard. but if you knows why it's not available please let me know the cause
If you already have a bootable CD of Windows XP, then you're not going to get anything different by having the Windows XP floppy boot disks. The purpose of the floppies is to allow you to install Windows XP if your computer isn't able to boot from a CD. Pretty much any computer made this decade is able to boot from a CD. Based on your description, it sounds like you want a recovery disk that is GUI based. You should try BartPE. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/download/
Well, I'm still not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I'll offer up more potentially useful help. Will this work? http://www.bootdisks.us/ms-dos/5/ms-dos-bootable-cd-images.html
thanks so much guys for this hard efforts i really appreciated all this help even if already have what you are trying to refer me to bart pe huge sized and i want only a floppy size MS-DOS 6.22 (2.8 MB) MS-DOS 6.21 (2.3 MB) MS-DOS 6.0 (2.4 MB) MS-DOS 5.0 (2.2 MB) MS-DOS 4.01 (1.7 MB) MS-DOS 3.3 (1.6 MB) those boot disk i download them a long time ago but they don't boot to partition they boot only to floppy drive i have read in some site that there is no way how to do it in xp but to insert a blank floppy disk in the floppy drive and press "create MS-DOS startup disk" i have easyboot and cd is almost full now, only a place of this damned msdos startup disk is left to add. i think all this was just a waste of time, wasn't it?? yeah i shall forget about it. and finally what is left to say : "may MS-dos startup disk go to eternal hell"
I was reading your message again.... ... and I realized that I overlooked what you were asking for. With that being said, you're looking for a program called NTFS4DOS. You can get it from the following site. http://www.sofotex.com/Avira-NTFS4DOS-Personal-download_L80540.html This is designed to be installed on a floppy disk, which you don't have. I found a link in another forum that has created an ISO that you can burn to a CD. http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=117377 I hope I understood your question correctly and this solves your problem.
finally this can log to other partition from boot and copy files from full directories i didn't know that plain ms dos startup disk doesn't recognize ntfs partition and it needs this ntfs4dos yeah now i can copy files to and from any partition yes and that solved this issue from the beginning i just want to create ms dos startup disk in xp i didn't know that exist a xp install disk from floppy, thus the thread title was wrong, it must be "how to create a ms dos startup disk in xp without a floppy drive" although this iso lacks some command but that's ok with me silk42 thank you very much indeed
