AV-Avast

    Hi,

    I'm using my AV - Avast, but it slows down my PC extremely (!!) Could someone suggest some AV which won't f-up my machine like Avast.

    what is the specs on your computer as in cpu speed, amount of ram & windows version?

    avast can be somewhat of a resource hog.ive been using microsoft security essentials and it seems to be doing the job.avira is another good one.these are both free programs.

    I was recommending Rising, but somebody I know has managed to install themselves a very tasty rootkit.. I killed the processes but I can't get the bastard out.. it's poisoned the kernel.. lovely monolithic garbage windoze.. 7 is just as much a joke as 98 was :)
