Best free and pay anti-virus/firewall

Well i just had avg but i didnt really like it as it caused my computer to crash nonstop(network problem). What do you guys think is the best antivirus/firewall combo? right now i use spyware doctor, anti malware and the windows firewall. Should i change anything, what should i get?

Avira (free) and Comodo, very light, pro AV very good, free doesn't scan email and has popup on update which can be disabled. Avast is very good AV too as is Online Armor firewall (both free), Malware Bytes AntiMalware (MBAM) or SuperAntispyware (SAS) both free and good. Windows firewall is excellent but has no outbound protection unless a router with a firewall is used, may like SpyWareBlaster too (free-needs manual updating, provides protection only)
