Sorry, its not just one video, I meant all video files, and there is nothing wrong with the video file as there are some home wedding dvds being played as well.
Whichever video file I play the file appears.
I hve also uninstalled VLC, cleared out the registry, done spybot, malware and virus scan with no results and reinstalled VLC and it is still there.

have you tried deleting the file?
There is obviously some reason for it, malware etc....just cant seem to find it.

I have already tried it with other software and it is VLC specific. I know the obvious solution is to just get rid of VLC but its a great piece of software and it wasnt happening originally, so its something that I have introduced somehow.
