HI, 2oldGeek,If you would like to time to clean up sons PC i would appreciate it i think it is worse then mine was. My PC is working good now will look into the deep freeze program and see how it compares to SANDBOXIE,thanks in advance.
Hi whiskey99, For your son’s computer, first, let’s do a little Cleaning and Post some Logs so I can see what we need to do… Remember, while we are cleaning, please DO NOT: install, delete, or run any programs unless I tell you to. It will go faster and make it easier on me and have less chance of screwing something up. And if you do not understand something, do not go on, Stop and ask….. 1. Temp File Cleaner (TFC.exe) Please download and save Temp File Cleaner to your desktop. You might want to Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs... including your browser! Double click to run it. If you have a lot of junk files to remove, it could take a while, so please be patient and let it finish. When it's done, it will report the total size of files removed. If it asks to Reboot, choose to do so. This will remove files that could not be removed while Windows was running. After Restart, log back in to your usual account. 2. Security Check Please download and save SecurityCheck.exe to your Desktop. • Double-click SecurityCheck.exe then follow the on-screen instructions inside of the black box. • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt • Please copy and past the contents of checkup.txt in your next reply. 3. RogueKiller Please download and save RogueKiller to your Desktop. • Quit all programs that you may have started. • Please disconnect any USB or external drives from the computer before you run this scan! • For Vista or Windows 7, right-click and select "Run as Administrator to start" For Windows XP, double-click to start. • Wait until Prescan has finished ... • Then Click on "Scan" button • Wait until the Status box shows "Scan Finished" • click on "delete" • Wait until the Status box shows "Deleting Finished" • Click on "Report" and copy/paste the content of the Notepad into your next reply. • The log should be found in RKreport[1].txt on your Desktop • Exit/Close RogueKiller+ 4. AdwCleaner Please download adwcleaner and save to your desktop. • Close all open programs and internet browsers. • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. • Click on Delete. • Confirm each time with Ok. if asked. • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. • A text file will open after the restart. • Please copy and past the content of that log file with your next post. Note: The log can also be located at C: >> AdwCleaner[XX].txt >> XX <-- denotes the number of times the application has been ran, so in this case may be something like R1. 5. Junkware Removal Tool Please download jrt.exe and save it to your desktop. • Please temporarily disable your security/protection software as found here, to avoid potential conflicts. • If running Vista or Win7... right-click jrt.exe and select "Run as Administrator", otherwise just double click it. The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient, it can take a while depending on your system. On completion, a log file JRT.txt is saved to your desktop and will automatically open. • Please copy and paste the contents of JRT.txt and post in your next reply. 6. HijackThis.exe Please download and save http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/ to your desktop. • Right Click on Hijackthis and select "Run as Admin" (XP users just need to double click to run) • Click on "Do A system scan and save a logfile" (if you do not see "Do A system scan and save a logfile" then click on main menu) • Hijackthis will scan and then a log will open in notepad. • Copy and paste the entire contents of the log in your next post. • Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Please post the following Logs: checkup.txt, RKreport.txt, JRT.txt and HijackThis log in your next reply. That’s 4 Logs I need and we’ll get started. TNX 2oG
HI,2oldGeek,I ran TFC and when it went to desktop MICROSOFT said it experienced an error gave a procedure to fix but the instructions were in behind items on desktop so they were not clear as what to do,also desktop turned white which did not help.

OK, buddy, that's all of them, hang on and I'll probably have something for you later this evening after I go over them... 2oG
whiskey99, here's something to think about: This was in the first post that I sent you. If you can't read and follow instructions I have better things to do with my time. You have deleted and changed programs between your first post and the last one. It's your computer and you can do what you want with it but, it's my time and I don't charge for it but, I am not going to spend it trying to keep up with all your changes in between when I receive one post until I get the next one... You think about it and when you get through changing that computer, then maybe I can help you.. But not until! 2oG
