So I HAD a computer running windows XP. Apparently my mom was using it and a message popped up looking like a windows program. It said something like "We have found viruses on your PC, restart your computer to remove these viruses" And she restarted. Now windows wont even open. I've tried using an XP boot disk, but I get an error message saying that a problem has been detected and windows was shut down to prevent damage. So using a laptop, iv downloaded ubuntu onto a usb stick and loaded it onto the PC. Ubunto works great, but I'm wondering if I can remove the virus using ubuntu and if possible, how?
